As a political reporter in Illinois, I have been a frequent user of the Illinois State Board of Elections website over the years. The site contains a treasure trove of information and is especially useful for tracking campaign contributions. However, navigating the financial records on the site and sorting results can be a bit challenging to the uninitiated. To encourage voters to use this resource, I made a couple instructional videos in late 2014. I believe these may be the two most boring videos ever posted to YouTube. But those who can make it through them will be rewarded with a new skill for searching and sorting financial records in Illinois elections.
